Logan, Utah

Arrival Sunday, June 7

210 Miles | 4 hours plus 1 hour excursion

We take the 91 highway, seeing goats crossing and we are falling in love with the Idaho countryside.

We stop at the Potato Museum in Blackfoot, Idaho, trying out Chocolate covered potato chips and “taters for out of towners”.

We arrive at Mark and Suzie's driveway at sunset. Datta plans to take a bike ride with Mark and Suzie after Mark helps him change out the motherboard on the broken heater but instead they end up shorting our the appliance circuit and knocking out the fridge. So instead of cycling, they spend the rest of the afternoon trouble shooting the circuit, eventually getting the relay in the old circuit breakers to stop clunking by disconnecting the heater.

We call a mobile RV Repair guy who agrees to come out in the morning and decide to go get dinner at a Mexican restaurant where we note that the wait staff are all wearing their masks under their noses, and one hangs his off his ear. Mari comments that it’s like wearing your underwear under your junk, long before the meme comes out. This Covid thing is still sinking in, apparently.

We go for a late hike up the Logan river.

The next morning, as Sibri learns how to knit from Suzie, Scott the repair guy shows up with his two boys and concludes the furnace is working fine but it’s too big for the system and has an airflow issue. He refuses to accept payment since nothing was repaired and turns out he has a massive yard of Airsteam parts that he thinks contains many of the pieces we need. Like a new stove, or at least a thermocoupler, a Land Yacht emblem and rear hatch, among others. We plan to send him our wish list and pay a visit back to Logan on our way back home.
